this was my third attempt to get a proper toilet seat. the others didn't have the right shape or were too fragile. this one is round open (easy for my precious gear) and sturdy...the artwork on instation proves a picture is worth a thousand words...study it carefully and the seat will be securely in place in no time. superior quality a real bonus.

the family has not yet managed to break it or even damage it a bit. the construction is very solid. please note that the seat of this model does not close automatically; you have to physically push it down. that means when someone puts a furry blanket on it, the lid doesn't fall off half way for us stander-upers.

I bought one of these toilet seats and they impressed me so much that I bought another one a few months later. this is a great toilet seat for overweight people i.e. 300 lbs. i had other chairs that didn't last 3 months for this reason. it's been over 2 years now and these toilet seats are still like new. as for the installation, they are easy to install, just follow the instructions. however i must say that it is difficult to tighten the hinges to keep them taut. I constantly tighten the hinges on both toilet seats but that said that wouldn't stop me from buying them again.

the toilet in my house is commercially elongated. I had previously bought a chair from another brand that was supposed to fit their stated size specs, but it was about 1/4 inch short at the edges. this one fits perfectly. the other reason I bought it was for the all-metal hinges. stainless steel bolts and hinge pins in a painted metal part and not just embedded in plastic. hope this choice will last for many years and not suffer from the broken hinge problem of plastics. the seat and lid are all plastic. there could be a little flex in the lid if it had a heavy body on it but I'm sure it would come back. lightweight and easy to spray and clean. the lid is not one with a quick release function for easier cleaning and does not have a slow close function but everything works fine for me.
