this toilet is perfect. it works better than any new or old toilet I've ever seen or tested, it's compact everywhere except the seat, it looks good and it's incredibly cheap (compared to what most people spend on new toilets). WC. I had seen and used the new water-saving toilets in other people's homes. they ranged from not so good (less water in the bowl, but you have to rinse 5 times to empty it) to terrible (even endless rinsing couldn't handle the smears). I searched for toilets for years. learned not to buy a toilet that wasn't called for a card score. then i looked at buyers reviews. this toilet cleans up a huge amount with one flush. and there is no lubrication problem. (I believe some work has been done to create a surface finish to prevent this and improve the shape of the bowl - whatever it is it works 100%) zero. it's a lot but not that heavy. it is compact but with an elongated bowl (so better for taller people) and higher than a normal chair (good for older people) but not massive. its compact size and the fact that it is a single piece means it is very good where space is limited. it protrudes much less from the wall than a 2-bedroom apartment or a non-compact one-piece. and the cistern is compact - narrow from side to side and top to bottom. but the bottom line is that it is a water saving toilet that is really efficient. no need for multiple rinses and it stays really clean. I can't recommend it enough. didn't know we had another co. which could innovate quite a bit and make a very good modern product. looks wise, it's a nice mix of a bit of traditional styling with clean, understated lines. (I've learned to avoid retro looking toilets...most of them haven't even been map tested.) again...well done us standard.

I find that the seating arrangement leans too far back.

a great replacement for our over 30 year old toilet. the single piece looks great and was easy to install. a great buy on bath1 compared to local hardware warehouses. the delivery to me was fast and efficient.

short story: impressive hunting power. water consumption for a two-person household with a bathroom reduced by 25%. long story: we totally agree with r. detailed review of this toilet. we bought this american standard compact caddy from bath1 in may 2011 for a much higher price. it was worth it. we installed it ourselves and had no problems. it is quieter and easier to clean. the best toilets we've ever had. (ps. I originally thought a slow closing lid would be a bit silly...not anymore!)

i have had these toilets in our powder room for about a year and love them. I'll buy another one for the other bathroom. I like that it is one piece which makes it easier to clean. it's sleek and compact. I bought it because it is low on power and I have never had any problems with flushing. it takes right down and fast. there is no round and round water with other toilets. whoosh it's almost like the air sucks the contents in quickly. anyway i highly recommend it.

better than expected with such low water consumption. large steak box that works quietly and efficiently. no regrets! so i bought one and a week later... bought a second one.
