Delta Mateo Single Handle MagnaTite faucet uses a magnetic dock I think it is called Diamond Seal to lock into place. This is a MASSIVE faucet not the faucet of your grandma. Make sure you have space above so when you install it, your faucet can be the star of your kitchen. At first I thought it was too big but after a day or two realized this is perfect for our massive countertop. We have had this 9 months and it is nice as the first day we got it. We bought the artic blue color and it is beautiful. The shield spray is silly. I am not even sure it really prevents water spray. Since we have a deep sink we are always going to have some minor spray or splash from using the sink. What works is the install and adjustment to the flow of water. Ours is powerful but you can slow down the power to a trickle and it still gets dirt off your dishes. I like that the faucet always goes right back into place. LOVE THAT! It has a high arc and it swivels all the way around. It pulls down so it feel great in your hand when you are washing veggies or cleaning a dish pan or even washing your sink. I believe install by a plumber will help with the success of your faucet. We are fortunate to have a plumber install our and get the water flow perfect for our pleasure. My husband has installed faucets before, he is not a trades person but said this is a faucet he could probably install as the directions were easy to understand. Works great.Accents our new granite counter top and Black Stainless appliances.Only negative was it was not clean when we pulled it out of box.It had marks on it from handling from factory.Doesn't seem as mark resistant as our appliances.<p><small>Originally Posted on DeltaFaucet.com</small></p>

Love the faucet, but handle kept falling off after a few months. Tightening worked for a while, but I didn't know it was a self-tapping screw so re-tightening only helped temporarily, as threads were getting stripped, likely by over tightening.Delta sent new cartridge unit but directions were sparse, leaving out a few important directions like hand tighten plus 1/4 turn (Delta rep told me this on my 2nd call). YouTube geniuses all used tools, tightening more than that and leaving teeth marks (or stripping soft screw-in collar like I did).Delta part instructions did not include the "line up the pins when you put in the new cartridge and make sure it doesn't turn while installing the locking collar". I allowed it to turn, tearing the delicate blue gasket that lines up with the internal portion of the valve.Delta graciously sent me a second valve and collar...but my lesson was to make sure you get really detailed instructions from Delta if you're if you're an overconfident knucklehead like me.I was not the family hero with the kitchen sink and dishwasher down for days awaiting the new valve.Loved the Delta reps, love the faucet. We went to a local plumbing supply store looking for a new kitchen faucet, to replace one from another brand we had only 5 years, and weren't that satisfied with.The Delta faucet came highly recommended from the staff. We liked the style of the faucet, and the fact it was well built.We've had it in use for several weeks now and are very satisfied with this faucet.
