perfect fit drain assembly for deep soak tub..
this drain assembly was exactly as pictured and it fitted easily and met my high standards which i would recommend as i bought the hardware as stated on the fairing box for a snug fit.

A Great Drain..
This drain is no different from any other ABS plastic bath drain. there is nothing wrong with plastic. the excess parts and connections are perfect and this drain works as expected. most houses are sealed with plastic! (abs or pvc) negative reviews starting with "my plumber.." should be discarded. I have been a plumber for 25 years and this drain is no different than any other plastic drain on the market. I prefer plastic because it doesn't corrode, especially where the threads are. it's always nice to unscrew the drain fitting (et al) if it's plastic, it comes right out. if it's brass, forget all the wires are stuck due to corrosion.

Wish we had gotten this to begin with!..
although we bought the american standard cambridge bathtub for a recent full bathroom remodel, we forgot to buy the drain. so our plumber assembled something with a drain handle and parts from a big box store. a few weeks later, when we double checked all the work done, we found that the first drain was leaking through the overflow and of course not holding water in the tub because the shut-off lever mechanism was designed for a standard height tub. after several attempts to find something that would work and much frustration from all parties involved, we decided it was safest to buy the deep soaked drain, which is the recommended drain for the cambridge tub. this may not seem like a big deal, but the cambridge tub is made from "american" making it thicker than standard tubs and bigger than a standard tub. our plumber had no problem installing the deep drain in less than an hour. he had to cut the vertical drain pipe from the overflow to fit the height of the tub. and since this drain is designed for the cambridge fairing, the seals all fit well and do not leak (we checked). the drain plug is also easy to use and holds the water reliably. all in all I'm relieved we bought this. our renovation is now complete and I can enjoy the tub without worrying about a leaky drain.
