Heavy duty open in front needed this because of a recent leg amputation..
this seat is hd commercial grade which i needed to get from a wheelchair to the toilet and worked great. the front opening facilitates cleaning and the robust construction facilitates transfers. if you have an elongated american standard i would recommend this chair for you.__

I looked everywhere for this type of toilet seat and couldn't find one. my wife found it on bath1 and i couldn't be happier. I've had it for about 2 months now and it's high quality. it was exactly what i was looking for and my wife and i are happy. men, as long as you have a good cause it eliminates the discussion about what position the toilet seat was left behind. †

no seriously. it's a simple design that requires less braking. all metal hardware included. much better than the original cheap seat and cover supplied when the building was built. less surface to collect liquids and no lumps underneath! perfect for a corporate or public washroom!

Love my toilet seat..
i love this chair it is very sturdy and durable it does not move like others i bought where they splinter and break. i am a heavy woman and i take so many chairs i could never find the right one but this one is the best and very comfortable. I recommend it to all fat sitters.

Very comfortable...
this is a very comfortable toilet seat and fits our standard american toilet perfectly. my only problem is that the nuts holding it in the back are getting looser and looser so it sometimes drifts off center. I think it's easy to fix by taking the time to get a couple of wrenches to tighten the two at once. hand-tightening doesn't take long.

no my son does not have to lift the chair which is difficult for him. it is also as commercial grade with heavy metal fittings. piss on the chair!
