very light and saves a lot of water. however, throughput may be low and there is no model to choose from.

this unit was a perfect replacement for my grohe 2.5 gpm hand shower. immediate reduction in water consumption, but it doesn't seem to reduce the efficiency of the shower system much. I actually enjoy my showers more because there isn't as much (expensive) water flowing down the drain. having teenagers in the house will reduce water wastage. if you don't know how much water your old hand shower uses, you can fill a bucket with your old hand shower for a minute and measure it.

i first used this hand shower in a newly opened hotel where it really was the best shower ever. i searched online to find it expecting it to be part of an expensive elite collection. i was amazed that it was readily available on bath1 and in a typical price range. when i took it home it was just as perfect as the hotel and is identical. there are two things that make this model different from all the others I've owned. First of all, all the water jets point in the same direction, so you get the same soaking time at every distance/height. most other shower heads spread out so you only get full flow if you're very close. second, if you remove the water-saving flow restrictor (which is easy to do), it produces a luxurious flow of water. you'll feel a little guilty about how much water flows, but more guilty about how long you stay in the shower.

i love this shower head. I love it so much that I have bought at least five of these over the years to use in the various homes I have lived in. after a few years of use in certain hard water conditions, several of the small rubber nipples may become a bit clogged and the water from these nipples will drip or spray in strange directions or not flow at all. rubbing the nipples usually dissolves everything and the occasional vinegar bath will save you more time, but it's ultimately easier to buy a replacement. it's no different from any other shower head. luckily these grohe shower heads are not only of good quality, but they are also quite cheap for what you get. in some places (eg usa) they have placed a small orange current limiter behind the black plastic screen on the underside of the handle. I'm not encouraging you to (*cough*) but if you want to get the most out of this shower head, you'll need to remove the flow limiter. a friend of mine (*cough*) regularly removes the flow limiters from this kind of euphoric shower head and tells me it's okay; with some the restrictor will jump right up with a tug on long nose pliers, others may need a little more prodding but will eventually give in.
