this shower head is huge and installation was a bit tricky getting it over my tall husband's head. the other tricky thing about it is that it's all metal and weighs a ton. you want to make sure your pipes can support the weight, especially if you add an extension. the flow restrictor is also a thing, unless the water pressure in your house is faithful as old. otherwise removing the thing can turn the rain from depressing to refreshing. the build quality is fantastic. the price is ehhh quite a lot.

this rain shower head is extremely impressive. it is a large diameter 12 inch head. the case is also made entirely of metal, giving it a very substantial premium feel. it's very heavy, about 6 pounds - make sure your water supply line can handle the weight! this feels noticeably better than some of the other grohe heads which are mostly plastic. I don't know if it lasts longer than its plastic counterparts, but it definitely feels more premium. also this head is rated at 2.5 gpm which I think is advantageous in a large diameter head like this (some other heads of the same size are rated at 1.75 gpm).

when this shower head arrived i couldn't imagine what i ordered could be so heavy. like other grohe shower products it is very well made with quality materials and craftsmanship. I can look into the shower and see my reflection in the chrome. the shower is softer than the rain head it replaced (although my wife didn't even notice I changed it). i left the restrictor in place because my local pressure is very high. the water coverage is wide and even and does not drip when turned off. i love the feel and coverage of a rain shower head and have replaced all my showers with one. the installation was very easy as i had already installed a rain shower. the pivot is very large and sturdy and will stay in place if you need to tilt it.

at almost $500, that seems way too expensive to me. the rain shower experience is more my wife's thing than mine - I don't like the low pressure drizzle, it doesn't feel effective or relaxing - I prefer the strong spray. but with a dual-function shower handle, she can take advantage of that wide, soft spray from that huge spray head. the fixture is very heavy and the product only includes the head with no flange or whatever so whether you have your pipes set up for overhead installation or need a long flange to protrude from the wall make sure they have this can bear head heavy. the quick cleaning is excellent and it is a very attractive design for a luxurious look (and feel) to your shower.

love these rain heads...an affordable level of luxury...this is a grohe so as always the finish is fantastic...the build quality is as good as they get solid...you pay for construction and finish! the effect of this shower head is highly dependent on your water pressure... this is the case with any brand name shower head... if you have too much water pressure and you can't control it it could be too strong add a control valve . if you don't have enough water pressure the water will drizzle...it's hard to give you exact numbers as it's not just the pressure but the size of the pipes feeding the shower head...so sometimes you have to just try . .. not all plumbing is plug n play... especially if we all like to smell the rain differently... so keep that in mind. good rain head reasonable price considering the quality....

Use this shower head in a new-build shower in a high-end bath design. by using all grohe chrome fittings and it fits beautifully with the whole. grohe offers a wide range of "starlight chrome" valve caps to match this head. also combine with the grohsafe 3.0 blank valve to complete the installation. besides the look and just as importantly, it creates a "rain" effect. it is not a hard jet shower head. like any shower head, higher installations will spread the water flow more which may or may not be what you're looking for, so adjust accordingly. also keep in mind that the fixture is a bit heavy. easy installation, but keep these things in mind.
