look closely - the wall fittings are partly gray plastic, not chrome. probably ok for performance but for some looking for a certain aesthetic this could be an issue.

the shower rod does exactly what we need as our various height issues are now solved. my only wish is that the images were easier to see. i thought the posts were flat which i wanted but they are rounded. a small problem.

fairly basic but comes with unnecessary plastic anchors that might work on drywall or concrete panels but not on cultured marble. 1/8" x 2" stainless steel tension bolts required to secure bar ends. the finishing sleeves are also finicky and must be guided to engage the rails on the finials to complete the assembly.

i have porcelain tiles in my bathroom that are very hard to drill (not to mention the pain of doing it). I was actually planning to buy another rod from another manufacturer, but when I downloaded the installation instructions it turned out that you had to drill 2 holes on each end within a 0.5 inch interval. that would be very difficult in my situation. this grohe bar only needs one hole at each end. in addition, it is a full 24 inch bar. many other "24" bars are more or less shorter than 24". overall i am happy with this product. only complaint is the angle adjustable swivel head is very different to adjust. at first i thought i received a defective product but after that by asking the owners here at bath1 and talking to grohe tech support i realized it was a design feature.

I love shower rods so everyone can adjust the height of the shower to their liking - my pre-teen son and I can shower comfortably from the same bathroom! this shower rod was super easy to install. there is a drill guide on 1 side of the box and although the instructions are ikea style pictures with small words there are not many parts to fit so for someone handy it is very doable. the screws are big as are the drywall anchors so it seems to hold up well.
