this is described as 8 inches but looks smaller. fixture surround is included so it's less than 8 inches. it would be nice if they were 10 inches. the next size I could find was 12 inches - I was hesitant because the water pressure can decrease as the size increases. not yet installed.

i had a small basic angled wall mounted shower head and wanted a rain shower. "so about half the size of regular fairly light models and the grohe 26632000 arm you need is one with the lowest drop you will find. existing wall mount this can be a compromise that you can easily install yourself videos on you tube explaining how to install the arm and head.

I did a complete bathroom remodel and worked on all the things I needed to buy without being able to test them out or at least see them in person. this grohe shower head is one of the grand slams on my list. an absolutely necessary purchase and highly recommended. the first thing you need to do (sorry for the environment!) is remove the water regulator in the gasket. not the mesh water filter (!) but the plastic regulator. I believe it was blue. just use a sharp knife to pry it out. it was the magic trick that made this pup jump like a waterfall. it may of course be different in your house but wow it is...funnily enough there is so much pressure and so many nozzles on that head it almost obviates the need for the rain shower (grohe 27816001) i had installed . if you're on a tight budget I wouldn't recommend the rain shower as it's a complete luxury item and just go for that fixed shower head. instant tension in the water pipe of running water. it's heavenly but make sure you buy the all metal version 26467000 as there is a cheaper plastic version that looks but makes a nice shower cheaper. 29142000 the three-way controller. this is also very impressive and I love that each head has its own on/off button. wifey appreciates the simplicity and of course the high end look..
