Très bien conçu..
of very good quality. for a high-end installation in a bathroom.

Must to have in multi-washroom home..
must have if you have more than 2 toilets. no sudden hot/cold water when showering when someone flushes or starts showering in another bathroom or both. you can hardly feel the temperature difference, only the current change is noticed.

From easy to awkward..
this is our second constant temperature grohe bath/shower tap. love the concept! the first was simple and intuitive: it had an easy-to-set temperature scale; the new one doesn't really have an indication of the temperature setting. the old one had a simple pull knob to switch from bath to shower, the new one pivots you into a central position to switch from bath to shower. it's hard to tell when you start which one to pick - if you start with cold water in the pipes, you can get a cold pre-soak from the shower. on the plus side, the new unit's adjustment handles are much easier to adjust with damp, soapy hands. the photo shows the new unit installed, the old unit sits on a shelf under the new one.

Lack of installation instructions led difficulty installing. Works well so far though...
tap only came with very general installation instructions and turned into an installation nightmare. we have pex pipes (which allows the fittings to rotate) so when installing the unit it is impossible to tighten the tap on the fittings behind the wall without them turning. in the end it took my plumber another 6 hours to install. after the installation was done we had to adjust the temperature setpoint in the unit but it seems to be working fine now. best advice for installing pex to 3/4" adapters with frame mounting holes. (shown) and use 3/4" fittings to connect to faucet instead of 3/4" to 1/2" offset adapters supplied.

Works like magic. Quality valve...
the hot water pressure in our building is unstable and I often got burned by the hot water while showering. and then I found this grohe valve. I haven't been burned since. it seriously works like magic and adjusts the water temperature so quickly that I can barely feel the temperature changes. and the best part, it does this mechanically from the inside without the need for any electrical wires etc. the second reason I got it because my kids often touch the bathtub faucet while playing in the bathtub. our old grohe was very hot on one side. but this one is actually cool everywhere so safe for kids. in addition, it has a safety button that must be pressed to increase the water temperature. the only downside is that the tub/shower valve cut-off point on the right shut-off point isn't very clear and I've noticed we sometimes leave it in both showers. or bathtub drip water mode. if that breakpoint was a little easier to "click" that would have been perfect. oh and i didn't say it's a pretty modern grohe piece. highly recommend.
