Great product bad install. Easy to install pull back slip cover and screw on. 1 minute tops if you have the right nipple size...
it wasn't the grohe product it was the plumber who didn't take 3/4 of all your buds. i have 6 grohe heads 3 different volume valves with 3/4 heater water supply and they all work great! even all at once.

Quality..
I've had the stainless steel version for several years now. it was well worth the money. German quality gave us trouble-free performance.

Great shower head...
I don't currently own this shower head, but have had the pleasure of using one at a spa. if you're considering buying one, do it. it is well. i liked the positions it can be moved to and the overall look.

Shower is nice not so impressed with the massage setting..
I bought two from a local plumbing supply store at about 20% over the bath1 price. we put them (one on each end) in a custom 60" x 36" shower with a separate hand unit for a his and hers overhead shower. the first thing to realize is that these units cannot be mounted at the normal height...i am a little over six feet and place mine 68 inches off the floor my wife is six feet and we put his at 60 inches according to the instructions supplied with the devices. ideal for new construction that is difficult to renovate. I was a little suspicious at first, but it worked. hopefully those adjusted heights won't be an issue when we sell the house in a few years, as the showers are height specific. the showers rotate 180 degrees within a 12" radius of the attachment point and the heads rotate 360 degrees in each arm. this allows for an endless amount of locations, which is nice at first. .but then the novelty wears off I have a good found point for mine and leave it there the rotation should allow you to position the massage adjustment units which brings me to the next part of the review... the massage part isnt that great we feed these units with 3/4" copper tubing coming from a 60 gallon superstor hot water tank. psi. just before the shower the line branches into two 1/2" copper pipes, one to each faucet; the same for hot and cold. what that means is i have plenty of water to relatively high pressure. there is only one setting on the stimulator and the pulse coming out of the unit isn't very strong...not nearly as strong as the portable unit we installed.and it's been used with only one freehander (we have 2 in the shower) with only one head on this appliance i contacted grohe about this and they suggested taking the shower head apart and removing the flow limiter in each shower head i will try this at some point when i have more time as it will probably take a few hours to complete (maybe less...just a guess).for now hand works fine.so in conclusion...shower area works great.have two heads for positioning while showering means you get coverage of your head up to your belly, what violence ig is. aesthetically it is also a very sexy shower... well polished. but the massage part...meh not impressed. i will update when i manage to remove the speed limiters.

Even Better than Expected!..
we recently renovated our 60's bathroom in our new apartment. it was stressful took longer than expected and in the end it takes some time to process the process and all the flaws you notice in the delivered product to really enjoy the end result; call it post-traumatic entrepreneur syndrome. the only exception to this was the grohe freehander. from the start it was even better than we could have hoped for. the first shower with her was fun experimenting with the thing and finding unexpected new ways to use it. when moving it has just the right amount of resistance so you know it will stay where you put it, but it's also not that hard to move. arm swings 180Ëš up and down; each head rotates freely about its axis 360Ëš; each head has a dial on the outer rim with three positions for the massage shower and either off for indoor or eco for outdoor (less water shower). so with all that movement you have a number of different possible combinations and it's fun to experiment with to discover new ways of showering and just have the pleasure of having a great shower experience. (I will say we are lucky in our building with nice strong water pressure and we kept the old cold and hot water taps separate so you can finely control the pressure and temperature of the water.) we were hoping for a simple two shower solution for people without having to extensively redo the sanitary facilities. we have that and much more. so it works great for two people: turn the outer head to spray almost horizontally and the inner head to spray almost straight down and you have two well separated shower areas. you can adjust the separation by raising or lowering the arm and readjusting the heads. and each person can decide whether they get a massage shower or a regular shower. but you can also have a spa experience alone. place both heads on the shower and separate the jets with the arm up, you have a nice rainy cover; switch to massage and lower the arm slightly and separate the flows and you will have a good massage on both shoulders if you stand on the side; swing the arm all the way down and point the heads horizontally and you have a good lower back massage; put one head on the shower, one on the massage and you get a double shower while massaging a sore neck or whatever. and you can continue to customize as you wish. it's easy to do, you can be as spontaneous as you want. after nine months we are still satisfied with the performance of the freehander. easy to clean shower heads seem to work as advertised (we have very hard water and you will see the white build-up on the individual spouts but rub your thumb over and they come off - till date, as advertised.) yes it is expensive (but apparently always cheaper) - but what wasn't in our renovation? - and at least this room was better than we had hoped.
