More Grohe Quality..
i really like grohe products and i use them everywhere i can. this one is beautiful with classic lines and a real elegance to the look. the quality is mostly to grohe standards, solidly built with good materials, although i'm not a big fan of the plastic clips that come with the shower head for installation. I think they missed the ball on that one for me anyway. the shower head is easy to install and even comes with a template to take the guesswork out of sizing required for installation. the water distribution is great, although the large head doesn't do much for water pressure. it's a downpour that usually means no pressure, but if you want to use this solo without any of the other heads they offer for a complete system, the pressure isn't enough for a good solid flush with him alone. I also love the easy clean-up factor!

Its a masterpiece. Symbol of Peace in your shower. :))..
expected slightly heavier but still a nice piece for the bathroom. normally grohe items are heavy due to their quality. when I get this rain shower I therefore expected heavier than what I encountered. but what i still see is good shape and very nice chrome finish. well built and no problem while working. install few mediocre work, therefore, if you have a plumber, you can save few hours of your life. after installation, the rain shower ensures very quiet moments in your bathroom.

it rains very nicely!..
wow, this is a primo rain shower head... first of all it's all metal... and a typical grohe finish that lasts excellently. it's a non-recessed flush, which is ideal imo. the fittings look great as always with grohe... the clips are plastic but still work well. the tips prevent scaling...very smart...i haven't noticed any build up yet so i can only assume how effective it is...and if smart the easy clean technology counts considering the number of mini water outlets . i can't fault this rain shower head...the price is a bit high...i wanted to deduct half a star for the price but it was not possible....if you want better you can found! grohe customer service is fantastic… only had to contact them a few times despite installing hundreds of their fixtures but the issues were resolved immediately. many grohe lights I installed over 20 years ago still work as expected despite no maintenance. and the finishes always look like new, that's what you pay for at grohe. so yes, grohe quality is real!

High quality rainshower head just make sure your ceiling material is suitable..
this is a very hefty rain shower head. the face is all solid metal and I love the recessed look. I was specifically looking for a 10" model rather than the larger 12" models that have recently become commonplace. I also like that it is rated at 2.5 gpm instead of the 1.75 gpm that is also becoming common. the only thing I don't like is the attachment mechanism. as others have said it is a plastic tab that relies on spring force to hold it in place. one arm of the plastic tab presses against the side of the hole you made in the ceiling, and another arm of the plastic is pressed against the inside of the ceiling. these clips are made of plastic so there is a risk that they will become brittle with age. although there should be no UV exposure in the ceiling so they can maintain their elasticity over time. what doesn't really interest me is the pressure this mechanism puts on the freshly cut face of your ceiling. this will cause some plasterboard or cement board spatter. the way this mechanism works is also expect the inner surface of your ceiling to be relatively flat so that the arm slides over it. my ceiling is an older ceiling with cement and a metal lathe. this material is somewhat difficult to work with and is particularly brittle once a face is cut (much worse than modern cement board). I don't think I'll be able to fit and remove this shower head more than a few times, after which too much material has fallen apart to give a secure fit. also the inside of my ceiling is not flat but very structured by the concrete. this makes installation very difficult. with standard drywall this should be easier... also keep in mind that this officially only supports ceilings between 0.5" and 1" thick. it may work with thicker ceilings, but you will be putting a lot more pressure on the plastic hooks than they are designed for.

Requires a ceiling installation for the best fit!..
This Grohe Rainshower F-Series 1-Spray 10 in. is something beautiful. as you can see from the photos, it's designed to sit flush against the ceiling and be used as part of a billionaire-quality walk-in shower with 16 streams propelling you and your body straight to nirvana. is a piece of your puzzle! Please note that in order to use it properly, it must be mounted flush against the ceiling. it has a flow rate of 2.5 gpm instead of the 1.75 that has become the norm of late, so you can get a really good flow out of your shower with this. it reminds me of the shower heads of yesteryear with the way it gets you wet! some installation notes.. you want to reinforce the recess in the ceiling if possible. I would recommend using a router or hacksaw to cut a reinforced wood block to sit on top of the drywall where you place it. it supports 0.5" to 1" thick walls for installation, so if you are using 0.5" drywall you can install 1/4" plywood behind it and then lip mount it in place for long term installation. the hole should be 8 and 9/16 in. and there is a cardboard template in the box. you will need at least a 2 x 4 in. plug, but it won't hurt to rough it up with 2 x 6 in. more room to work as you need about 2 1/2" of space outside the hardware for the connections The complete shower head is a 10" diameter unit and looks great! one last thing.. it's a *german designed* and made in portugal.. that means...you guessed it! tool metric. make sure you have a 32mm/24mm wrench for installation or you will break your fingers and slip connections if you try to hook it up properly. good luck! this will be a conversation starter for your guests.

Spa at home!..
I love this grohe rain shower head. after experimenting with these types of heads before I knew I eventually wanted to put one in my house. of course you can't just swap it out with your existing head (unless it's ceiling mounted). therefore some preparation is required. if you have the plumbing in the right place, overhead installation is easy. the throughput is fantastic. it's soft enough to relax, but also stable enough to cleanse you. I added this in line with another wall header which is a great option if you have the opportunity. in this setup, I can use the rain shower head more as a spa-style relaxation feature than a standard shower aid. there are definitely cheaper options, but i think grohe is a top brand. their service is excellent and I don't expect any problems from the shower head. I really recommend it!
