Overpriced small part of their "DreamSpray" system..
ok it's a nice head and it fits. it doesn't justify being more than twice the price of a larger pipe fitting head with the same finish and features from the same company. ok there are some extra parts for installation. it may be worth 10% more. I think the most important part here is the second item on the list "grohe dreamspray has advanced shower motors for precise and consistent water delivery in every spray pattern for an unparalleled shower experience and personalized." they expect this to be installed as part of their high-end luxury shower system, assuming no one will mind the price. that probably isn't the market here on bath1! as for the shower head itself, it looks good but i'm quite disappointed with the plastic clips used to hold it to the ceiling. at least the clip body looked substantial until I looked at the slender fingers actually clamping to the ceiling. I can understand that they probably don't want to use spring steel in a wet installation, but that still seems insufficient.

Really nice shower head...
I have two but slightly different. this rating is for flush mounting. the mount was interesting and worked very well. they even give you a template to cut the hole. plumbing was easy as I used my shower. i entered the row serving the first head and then stuck to it. installation took about an hour. as you can see we have good flow from both heads even though we have a well and our pressure ranges from 30 to 50lbs. it is of very high quality metal and has a nice finish. since one of us is disabled my wife and i usually shower together so having two rain heads is great. and yes, as you can see in the picture, our shower is very nice. it is 5' by 8' with lots of plants and a nice window.

Great rainshower with a better water pressure compared to many others Not an easy DIY..
to the right of the bat, first let me say this cannot be installed on a regular bath arm! make no mistake. this uses a 1/2" npt thread connection which will work in most american bathrooms (even older ones) but only overhead so dont worry about installation but its not a dyi in my opinion. me and hubby are pretty good and we started this on our own but ended up mainly hiring a plumber and using help on a few other fixtures we were replacing no need to buy a separate blank box for this the blank is there and has perforated edges it is like a cardboard box it also comes with all the pipes you will need for your main water supply line it also comes with a standard grohe water filter you may not notice the filter but it is there installation was not difficult as it ceiling is ready but if you need to renovate the ceiling it will take you ra 2 to 3 days i think.when installing make sure all 4 edges are reinforced so it can bear the pressure can handle well. compared to grohe 12 inch rain shower heads which have over 200 nozzles this one only has a little over 100 and with the pressure of 2.5 gpm you need something to secure it and adjust to it otherwise it will break the connection in a year or two and it falls on your head lol so take the installation seriously and ask for help if needed. these shower heads may be a little hard to reach, but remember to clean the nozzle regularly and be careful when using a stool in the bathroom. the shower itself is very nice. in my opinion this has the best of both worlds. it's a downpour but it's not really a low pressure compared to other downpours. although it is limited to 2.5 gpm, but due to fewer nozzles, the pressure rises to almost 80-90 psi, which is almost as good as regular small shower heads. i highly recommend it if you think you are ready to spend the money. as mentioned, don't just look at the price of the shower head, you will probably need a professional installation for this one, so get a quote before you buy. here in san diego the price of the installation was almost equal to the price of the fixture itself lol

Important to get the right parts/pieces..
i am building a house internationally in mexico from the united states. my contractor informed me that due to specific accessories I can only use mo & grohe sanitary fittings. grohe is considered the premium brand in my part of mexico so thought i'd give them a try. i'm so glad i did. it is a beachfront house with very humid conditions. my devices have to work hard with the water from the city well and the environment. i am so glad i chose grohe for my home. the spray on this head is absolutely gorgeous and will add so much to your shower. it is huge and covers a large area.2. excellent finish. all parts and components are made of the best materials. these fixtures are meant to last. german genius. think of cars.... mercedes versus ford in terms of engineering. grohe conducts independent "20-year daily simulation" tests on all its products, with a special focus on hard water.3. the designs are modern, elegant and simple. grohe designs are intuitive and pleasant to the touch and fit seamlessly into any design style.4. Lifetime Warranty. grohe will replace or repair all defective products. spare parts remain available for a minimum of 10 years after a product has been discontinued. normally i choose plumbing only based on price and design. however, this home is more challenging and requires a different approach to choosing a fixture that can withstand the elements and last. I am very happy with my decision to install grohe.

Recessed Installation For a Clean Look..
this is a beautiful rain shower head for a high end shower. - an 8-9/16" hole is required in the ceiling. a cardboard template is included in the box. - there must be a minimum of 2-5/16" clearance above the top surface of the ceiling for the header and adjust connections. - the head with trim covers 10" so that - the supplied supply line with rubber grommet connects to a 1/2" npt-mip supply line - 32mm and 24mm wrenches are used to tighten the fittings. - the shower head is held in place by 4 spring clips. it can be lowered and maintained by pulling it. therefore it is best if the ceiling substrate is strong and secure. I wouldn't recommend installing it where the drywall or drywall is old and deteriorating. it must be in really good condition. the spring clips have good strength which keeps them firmly in place. it is an expensive and high-end device. i really like the anti-drip feature as it stops the water flow quite quickly compared to standard rain shower heads. it prevents you from getting those cool water droplets on you when you're done showering. 5 stars for a premium, high-quality luminaire that is easy to install and maintain.
